Julian Torres is making history as the first and only mariachi artist signed to Snoop Dogg’s Death Row Records, bringing a modern and innovative approach to the traditional genre. Born and raised in Hawthorne, California, Julian’s love for mariachi began at community events and church carnivals, where he embraced his Mexican heritage through music.
In 2024, Julian earned the “Voice of the Year” award at the Galardones a los Músicos del Mariachi, solidifying his reputation as one of the most exciting voices in the genre. His career highlights include headlining the inaugural Long Beach Mariachi Festival, performing a tribute to Fernando Valenzuela at Game 1 of the World Series, and serving as the Grand Marshal for Long Beach’s Día de Los Muertos Parade.
Julian’s dynamic performances have taken him to iconic venues such as Disneyland, the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City. His ability to connect with diverse audiences was further showcased when he introduced Snoop Dogg on NBC’s The Voice, a moment that highlighted his crossover appeal while staying true to his roots.
Julian has also performed both the American and Mexican National Anthems at Dodger Stadium, a proud moment shared with his parents. His versatility and dedication to mariachi have brought him widespread recognition, with appearances on KTLA, Univision, CBS, and Spectrum News.
